New York apartment building under construction to include up to 100 luxury apartments
New York City apartment building builders are preparing to build 100 luxury apartment towers as part of a massive new project to add luxury apartments to an existing mixed-use development.
The towers will be a part of the new Legacy apartments, which will be the tallest residential and commercial buildings in New York, which has been struggling to attract high-end tenants due to its high cost of living.
The building project, called Legacy Towers, was approved by the New York Board of Realtors (NYBR) on Monday.
The Legacy Towers will be built at the site of the former Bell Avenue Apartments in the Bronx and will include 100 luxury suites, according to the New Yorker.
The project will be completed in the coming years and is estimated to cost between $2.6bn (£1.6b) and $3bn, according an article published by The Wall Street Journal.
The buildings will be located at the former site of Bell Avenue in the borough of Manhattan.
The site was once home to the Bell Avenue Houses, which were part of an 18-story, luxury hotel which was once part of The New York Times Building.
