How to find a great Airbnb apartment in Phoenix
Tempe, AZ (CNN) When the internet went to the toilet, the Airbnb bubble burst, too.
The company that was once known for being a cheap way to rent apartments to college students and other travelers got more attention in recent months for its new way of getting people to live together.
The trend of renters moving in together is gaining more traction with every passing day, as more people embrace the idea of sharing a house with others and forgoing renting to keep warm.
A new study from Mashable analyzed Airbnb listings from the month of February, the most recent month for which data is available.
It found that, compared to the month before, the average Airbnb rental in Tempe had an average of 7.3 people, with the average price for a home up about 6% from last year.
The study found that the number of listings per day had increased significantly.
That’s because the Airbnb site has grown in popularity.
In addition to providing a home for people who have a lot of money to spend, the site also allows people to rent out their apartments to anyone in the area.
“We see a lot more people wanting to rent than ever before,” says David Haggerty, an agent at RealtyTrac, a real estate brokerage.
“It’s been very active in recent years.”
The growth in Airbnb rentals has been fueled in part by a boom in people living together.
According to the National Association of Realtors, the number for the first time reached a record-breaking 9.4 million in the first quarter of 2018, a jump of more than 100% from the previous quarter.
Airbnb’s share of the national rental market has also grown steadily, rising from 4% in the fourth quarter of 2015 to 17% in February.
At the same time, the popularity of Airbnb has also contributed to a rise in listings of apartment complexes with less than 25 rooms, a new trend that’s been popping up for some time.
That increase has led to more people looking for a place to rent and a rise of the average listing price for new apartments to about $1.5 million.
While people are trying to find more affordable places to live, there’s also a push to build more affordable homes, too, particularly in Temple.
In the past year, a lot has happened in Tembe.
The county became the first in the state to require all new condominiums to have a minimum occupancy of five units, and the city of Tempe has launched a program that allows homeowners to buy homes for their kids and rent out units to people in need.
The city’s mayor also recently pledged $2 million to renovate and expand Tempe’s existing public housing facilities.
The number of homes being bought and renovated by developers and homeowners has increased.
The area has seen more new housing development in the past few years, with about a dozen developments under construction since the end of 2016.
Tempe’s housing boom has also led to a significant drop in the number or prices of rental apartments.
A typical home in Temberpahntown, Arizona, sold for $5.8 million in 2016.
By 2020, it was only $3.5 and the average asking price was $2.2 million, according to a recent Real estate Insider report.
Even though Tempe saw a rise, Haggerts research suggests that the area is still seeing a significant rise in the price of housing, which is one reason he says the city has so many new listings.
“The market is growing at a much faster rate than we’re seeing in most other cities,” he says.
“I’m really concerned about how long we’ll have this bubble.”Read more
